Tenerife – Overview

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, an alluring Spanish archipelago that lies just off the North West coast of mainland Africa. Famed for their sunny climate and azure waters these islands have long been a favourite destination for fun loving young people and families alike.

A place of stark contrasts, the bright lights and boisterous parties of Puerto de la Cruz and the packed resorts that adorn the southern tip form only one of Tenerife’s many faces. Here, far from the buzzing bars and bustling promenades, is an island is blessed with a breathtaking expanse of landscape just waiting to be explored.

The island’s capital of Santa Cruz is littered with a marvellous mix of traditional and contemporary architecture and crammed with cultural delights. Here visitors can indulge themselves with a trip to the Tenerife Espacio de las Artes (TEA), get dressed up for a night at the opera or go on a tasting tour of some of the nearby wineries. Alternatively adventurous travellers can get off the well beaten track and go off in search of rustic villages, deserted coves and seductive black sand beaches.

When hungry, Tenerife serves up an array of cosmopolitan cuisine alongside authentic fare. Don’t miss the chance to tuck into Tapas or sample seafood caught fresh from the sea.

As a well established top travel destination, Tenerife has established a fantastic range of accommodation options to suit all budgets, allowing guests to check into anywhere from homely Bed & Breakfasts to chic boutique hotels.
