Fuerteventura – Overview

The second largest Canary Island, and made up of 641 square miles, Fuertuventura is 62 miles long and 19 miles wide. The island lies only 62 miles of the North African coast and boasts the longest beaches in the archipelago.

With temperatures seldom falling below 64 F, the island is ideal for sun, beach and watersports lovers. In fact there are no fewer than 152 beaches along it's coastline.

The main tourist spots are Corralejo in the North and Jandia in the South with the main town being Puerto del Rosario.

With 3000 sunshine hours each year and excellent sandy beaches, Fuertuventura is now a major European holiday destination.
